Burnley Bank Note Society Meeting - 13th October 2011 - All welcome!
The Burnley Chapter of the International Bank Note Society is meeting on 13th October at 7.30pm at Nelson House, on Nelson Square off Manchester Road. All are welcome. The evening will consist of a talk, a large display of bank notes, and a bank note auction. There are free refreshments, so please feel free to join us.

Residents of Burnley and Padiham: don't lose your right to vote!
The electoral register is a list of names and addresses of everyone registered to vote in the Borough of Burnley. Each year the register is updated and a revised register is published on 1 st December.  By the end of August 2010 every residential property in the Borough will have received an electoral registration form, which will include the details of any occupants currently registered at that address.  You need to check if the details on the form are correct.

Playgrounds in Hyndburn
Funding has now been secured for 2 new play areas in Hyndburn. The play area at Lowerfold Park will provide an extension to the current facility for ages 8 and under. The Huncoat play area will replace the 2 play areas off Bolton Avenue. Construction will commence on both play areas in autumn.Plans of the proposals can be found at

One Planet Accrington
One Planet Accrington is a new community shop being set up in central Accrington by Hyndburn residents.  One Planet is a social enterprise (Industrial & Provident Society for the Benefit of the Community) and any surpluses will be put back into Hyndburn.  The shop will sell local, ethical, Fairtrade, environmentally friendly, wholefoods and sustainable products.
